I Won a DVD of “Don’t Stop Believin’: Everyman’s Journey’ from Arnel Pineda’s Website, and the DVD is One Precious Gem; Here are My 3 Favorite Scenes

Yes, you’ve read it correctly, I won an awesome DVD of “Don’t Stop Believin’: Everyman’s Journey” from Arnel Pineda’s website, and it was worth all the wait; the documentary film is the most inspiring, rock story that I have watched so far. It is one precious gem that I’m so lucky to possess. The DVD was awarded, as a prize, by the generous site’s moderator, Coley716, and I just received the copy thru the mail the other day.

The documentary film is the story of the lead singer of Journey, Arnel Pineda, and how he was discovered by Neal Schon, Journey’s co-founder. I was so excited to watch it because I’m a recent, avid fan. Arnel embodies all I look for from a singer-songwriter; he has that superb voice, the good looks, the jovial, optimistic attitude, and an overwhelming humility that I find disarming.

It’s so easy to love the film because of the positive vibes it provided me, and listening to Arnel Pineda’s amazing voice is one of my daily motivators. All scenes in the documentary are superb and touching, but there are three scenes that I find endearing:

First Scene:

Arnel Pineda performing “Separate Ways” at age 15 – At that young age, he already showed exemplary performance.  His voice was huge and his showmanship was at par with his performances now. I have watched the film 4 times and every time I come to that scene, I replayed it. It was simply adorable and unbelievable; Arnel was just as good when he was younger. What’s also amazing is that it was a Journey song! What would have Arnel replied if somebody told him, at that young age, that he would become the lead singer of the band later on?

Second Scene

When Arnel sang to his wife, Cherry, while they were standing, cheek to cheek, near a pool. His arms were around her, and he was singing “Faithfully”. It was so emotional and heart-warming watching Arnel show love and devotion to his wife. He said that he did not want to go back to broken relationships again. At a time that infidelity and divorce are common words, witnessing such loyalty and faithfulness to wife and family touches my soul.

Third Scene

This scene was when Arnel talked about his detractors. His humility and broadmindedness about the whole scenario demonstrates his good heart and impeccable breeding, worthy of a highly educated person. What he said about die-hard Steve Perry fans made this scene memorable, and I quote.

“They’re just diehard fans who got so used to Steve Perry’s voice, and I have no arguments about that. I’m also a very big fan of Perry. From where they are coming from, I understand. He’s really got one of the most beautiful voices I have ever heard.”

Well, I could string all the adjectives in this post to show how I love “Don’t Stop Believin’: Everyman’s Journey”. It’s the BEST documentary I have ever watched because it touched my heart and made me believe that dreams do come true. Thank you, Journey, Neal Schon, Ross Valory, Deen Castronovo, Jonathan Cain and most especially Arnel Pineda, for the inspiration.

Side story:

One of the youngest fans of Arnel Pineda :

When the DVD arrived, we were in the hospital because my grandson was confined.  Ethan, 2 years and 11 months, knows how to operate my laptop. I could leave him alone and he could manipulate the lap top to watch his favorite cartoons on YouTube.

Arnel’s YouTube videos are all over my laptop, bookmarked, saved or just displayed on my upper window.  At times, he accidentally clicks them and he would sing together with Arnel with an invisible microphone. Sometimes, when I watch, he also watches with me, swaying with the songs of Arnel, and mumbling some of the words.

When he saw the DVD in my hand when I visited him at the hospital – he reached out for it when I told him who it was – and did not let go until he fell asleep. So here’s his picture clutching the DVD.

I was not able to post immediately because I had to attend to post hospital concerns. I apologize also for the unclear pictures; I contended with my cp that was why. But later, I will post some studio pics. This is just to let you guys know that I have received the DVD.

Thanks, Coley, Arnel and APR!
