Summary of BTS RM’s Indigo Solo Album Exemplary Performance (Achievements)

RM is the 4th BTS member who released a solo work in Chapter 2 of BTS’ ‘story’.

Here are some of RM’s Indigo Album achievements as of January 9, 2023.

BTS RM’s Indigo Solo Album Exemplary Performance

1. On the week of Indigo’s release, RM’s Indigo ruled the entire top 8 (eight) positions of the World Digital Song Sales Chart, with the following songs:

#1 – Wild Flower – with Youjeen
#2 – Still Life – with Anderson Paak
#3 – Yun – with Erykah Badoula
#4 – Lonely
#5 – All Day – with Tablo
#6 – Hectic – with Colde
#7 – No.2 – with Park Ji Yoon
#8 – Forg_tful – with Kim Sawol

This simultaneous feat was only previously done by his group, BTS, and his groupmates, Agust D and J-Hope.

2. Indigo debuts at #1 on Billboard’s World Album Charts

3. RM is the 1st Asian Soloist in history to have an album, INDIGO, chart multiple weeks on Finland’s Physical Albums Chart, ranking at #1 in its second week. Thus, he is the longest-charting Asian soloist on the chart.

4. Indigo debuted on the Official UK Albums Chart at #45. RM and his bandmates, J-Hope and Suga are the only Korean soloists to ever enter the chart. Indigo also entered the UK Official Albums Download Chart at #4, and the UK Official Album Sales Chart at #55. Indigo’s official title track, Wild Flower with Youjeen debuted on the Official Singles Downloads Chart at #8, and on the Official Singles Sales Chart at #10.

5. Indigo charted at #56 on Germany’s Albums Chart and has remained on the chart for three weeks, making RM the longest-charting Asian soloist on the chart.

6. Indigo debuted on Italy’s Albums Chart at #88 and has remained on the chart for 3 weeks, making RM the first Korean soloist to have the longest-charting album.

7. RM’s Indigo also debuted at #11 on Poland’s Albums Charts, making it his first entry into the chart.

8. Indigo entered Germany’s Spotify Viral Songs at #85

9. Indigo charted on Austria’s Albums Chart for 2 weeks, earning RM the longest-charting Asian soloist on the chart.

10. Indigo became the longest-charting album by an Asian soloist on Spain’s Albums Chart for 3 weeks.

11. RM’s Indigo debuted at #27 on France’s Albums Charts, earning him his second and highest entry into the chart. Indigo also debuted at #22 on France’s Physical Albums Charts, making it RM’s first entry into the chart.

12. RM is the 1st Korean Soloist to chart an album (Indigo) for 3 weeks at #1 on Billboard’s World Album Charts.

13. RM debuted also on Billboard’s Artists 100 at #8.

14. Billboard has chosen RM’s Indigo as the Best K-Pop Album of 2022: Staff Picks, ranking at #1 out of 25 albums.

15. TIME magazine also named Indigo as One of the Best K-Pop Albums of 2022.

16. Rolling Stone named Indigo by RM as the #3 Best Korean Hip-Hop and R&B Albums of 2022, with his bandmate, J-Hope ranking #1 with Jack in the Box.

17. With Indigo, RM became Billboard 200’s Highest-Charting Korean Soloist. The album, Indigo, charted at #15. Then in the third week, Indigo was catapulted to #3 on the Billboard 200, making it the first and highest-charting album by a Korean soloist landing at the Top 3 on the chart.

18. On week 3, RM’s Indigo is still charting at #39 on Billboard’s 200 Chart; #2 on World Albums; #2 on the Top Current Albums; and #2 on the Top Albums Sales.

19. RM’s Indigo has landed at the Top 3 spots on Billboard’s Rap Digital Song Sales Chart.

20. Indigo’s Still Life with Anderson Paak charted at #1 on Billboard’s Rap Digital Song Sales Chart.

21. With the song, Closer from RM’s Indigo album – with Paul Blanco and Mahalia – RM becomes the 1st Korean Artist to chart on Billboard’s Hot R & B Songs Chart.

22. RM is the 1st Korean Soloist to chart 2 albums on Billboard 200’s chart of the Top 30 albums.

23. Wild Flower from the Indigo album gives RM his first solo entry on Billboard’s Top Selling Songs at #1.

24. Wild Flower is also RM’s first entry on Billboard’s Hot 100, charting at #83; thereby, earning Youjeen her first solo entry on the chart as well.

BTS’ other members, also had entries on the Hot 100, with J-Hope’s Chicken Noodle Soup, Arson, and More; Suga’s Daechwita, That That, and Girl of My Dreams; Jin’s The Astronaut; Jungkook’s Left and Right and Stay Alive; and V with Christmas Tree.

25. Wild Flower debuted at #1 on YouTube’s Global Music Video Chart with almost 24 million views in its first week.

26. RM’s Indigo album tracks also charted on the Top 3 of Billboard Hot Trending Songs.

27. Indigo’s track Wild Flower charted at No. 1 on iTunes in at least 88 regions with the album topping iTunes Charts in 65+ regions just a few hours after its release.

28. Indigo is still at #1 on Billboard’s World Album Charts as of January 7, while BTS Proof album is at #2.

29. Indigo ranked #2 on the Hanteo Monthly Physical Record.

30. Indigo become the longest-charting album by a Korean soloist on Billboard’s World Albums Chart.

31. As of January 12, 2023, the “Indigo” album by RM, leader of BTS has been certified 2x Platinum on Circle Chart with 500,000+ copies sold.

32. As of January 12, 2023, RM’s Indigo album still remains on the US Billboard charts.

33. ‘Indigo‘ by RM re-enters & reaches a new peak #53 in its 4th week on Belgium’s Flanders Albums Chart.

34. As of January 18, 2023, RM is now the longest charting K-Soloist in the BB Artist 100 (6 weeks).

As of January 24, 2023:

1. INDIGO by RM of BTS has remained the Highest Charting Album on Billboard at #3.

2. Indigo gained the most sales debut for a K-Pop soloist with 83,000 sales.

3. RM’s Indigo remained too as the longest-charting album by a K-Pop soloist for being on the chart for 6 weeks.

4. RM was able to remain on BB’s Artist 100 too, ranking #75.

5. Indigo is the 2nd longest-charting album (5 weeks) by a K-Pop or Asian soloist on Belgium’s Flanders Albums Chart.

6. Indigo by RM has earned #1 on the iTunes World Chart in 89 regions.

7. RM’s Indigo and with J-Hope’s Jack in the Box are now the longest-charting albums by Korean soloists on Spotify’s Global Weekly Albums, being able to remain in the chart for 7 weeks.
