I’m not going to try to impress you with my display of highfalutin words, nor try to pretend that I’m an ace writer like most entertainment magazine writers are; but I will write from my heart and speak honestly about my observations from my viewpoint as a BTS baby ARMY (I’m around 6 months old).

I’m inspired by our Bangtan Boys’ dedication and diligence in honing their craft. So, I will keep writing as well to improve my writing skills – even at my old age.

I was one of the skeptics too less than a year before; however, when I researched, I was able to listen to RM’s speeches on Billboard and at the UN. From then on, I was caught, hook line, and sinker. Once I had jimined, I couldn’t jimout.

If you’re a BTS ARMY, you would know what I mean.

According to LIAM GRAY@polaricecube123, an American ARMY, who is 71 years old (he’s seen the Beatles): BTS’ music is a new art form; nothing is comparable to it.

And I agree!

In this post, I have decided to collate several memorable quotes or statements of the BTS’ RM during their concerts, shows or videos. These are not my original thoughts. I give credit to the Great Leader of BTS, Kim Namjoon, who is a philosopher who raps (according to some), for creating these brilliant gems that the whole world should remember and glean important lessons from – whenever applicable.

I also give credit to the various translators who translated the Korean statements to English.

“Many media asked how we get over the hardships and bad things. I answered, ‘you can’t’. You have to be friends with the shadows. Sometimes it’s too much and too big for us, but to survive as an artist and human – we should be friends with the shadows.”

“5 years ago in 2014, we were in Broadway, in a small hall, and we couldn’t do the encore because of some reasons. And I still remember that. At that time, we were truly nothing; nobody knows us. But we can now use this phrase and laugh – from nothing to something. And tonight I truly realized that we did become something, and you know what? That’s just because you guys become our something.”

“Thank you for embracing us. Thank you for loving us; thank you for accepting us. These 7 boys from Korea who sing in Korean, and who have different looks and speak different languages; you guys truly proved to us that music transcends language, looks – everything.”

“We do have a lot in common: the same earth, the same air, the same sky. Maybe if we started looking at what’s the same, instead of looking at what’s different, well, who knows?”

“Happiness is not something you have to achieve. You can still be happy during the process of achieving something. So if you change your perspective a bit, I know many of you are going through tough times right now, but this could be the most beautiful moment of our lives.”

“We were terrified when we just made our debut. We were really worried that we wound end up as failures that we would be hated. So we were like: “What should we do? Would people like this?” “No, I don’t think they would.” We always talked about these things. I won’t forget these things. I don’t want to forget the past, because it’s part of us, and who we were. So, I don’t want to forget it. I’m sure things will not always go as we wanted. But now I know so many people trust us and like us always. So we will overcome whatever we face. “You often tell us in person or write us that you’re happy that we’re making a hit. But you’re kind of confused that you feel like you’re still there while we step forward and improve. But, you see, we didn’t trust ourselves. We weren’t sure we would succeed, that we would make a hit. We ask ourselves: ‘ Do you think we can have a show in a stadium before we die?” “Well, I don’t know.” So, I really want you to know that all of us were messy and small. We made it. It’s you who made us realize our dream. And if we, BTS, our music or show can support you, not just for your dream or in your life, if we can cut your pain and sorrow just a little bit; if we can help you that’s enough to prove who we are. RM’s statements had helped many ARMY to overcome their own ‘shadows’ and problems in life. He’s a true leader who acts as a role model to his fans.
