“The Sound of Music” Remake, Live on NBC; Stephen Moyer and Carrie Underwood as Captain Von Trapp and Maria

The Sound of Music Remake” on NBC’s Live will star Stephen Moyer and Carrie Underwood as Captain Von Trapp and Maria Von Trapp.

The two would surely be a superb pair because Carrie Underwood, the winner of American Idol Season 4, is a seasoned live performer. She has several platinum records, 16 Billboard awards, and 6 Grammy awards under her belt, while Stephen Moyer has starred as Bill Compton in “True Blood”, a vampire movie. Stephen has also played on stage before. The special musical is set to air on December 5, 2013.

The original stars of “The Sound of Music” were Christopher Plummer as Captain Von Trapp and Julie Andrews as Maria Von Trapp. Apparently, the team concerned is careful in the musical’s preparation because the blockbuster movie will always be a classic, and people would not want – even a Live performance – to reduce the movie’s brilliance.

Some favorite songs from “The Sound of Music” are “, “Climb Every Mountain“, “Edelweiss“, “The Lonely Goatherd” and “Sixteen Going on Seventeen“.

  1. It doesn’t matter what you call this butchering of a classic . What matters is if they get their money back from the “actors,” destroy all the film and/or digital copies and have everyone involved make a public apology for this offense to music, acting, all of the arts, and everything decent in the history of filmmaking.
