MANILA, Philippines – “The Mega and the Songwriter”, a musical variety show featuring Sharon Cuneta and Ogie Alcasid, is set to premiere on Sunday, September 15, 2013 at 9:00 pm on TV5. It would be the first time that the two celebrities teamed up together in one major event.
It can be recalled that Ogie Alcasid opted not to renew his contract with GMA 7 but instead, he signed a new contract with TV5. However, his wife, Regine Velasquez, has renewed her contract with GMA7.
The new musical variety show of Sharon and Ogie would showcase two of the superb singers of the Philippine entertainment industry.
The Mega Star, Sharon Cuneta, posted on her Twitter account the poster for the upcoming TV show.
Sharon Cuneta had a musical variety too earlier in her career so it would not be something new for her. Ogie Alcasid, on the other hand, had previously performed, every week, on GMA7’s ASAP with wife, Regine.
“The Mega and the Songwriter” is expected to be a unique show that would allow fans to enjoy and listen to their favorite stars perform.
