At Facebook 1,487 comments inundated Joshua’s profile, majority leaving positive comments that Joshua has made a statement in the music world, and it was not the end, but the start of something bigger.

Some of the fans vowed not to watch American Idol again, because according to them, American Idol is no longer a singing talent show but is a popularity contest.

Other fans were demanding a recount:

Deanna:

“I think votes need to be recounted, Joshua should have been in the finale He was the best!”

Diana:

“You already won the hearts of the millions of non-American all over the world, Joshua. I am not an American but I love your singing so much. Go make that record, we will definitely buy it!!!”

The 3 American Idol 2012 judges, Jennifer Lopez, Randy Jackson and Steven Tyler were equally “subdued.” Even if Joshua was their obvious favorite, they were powerless against fans’ votes.

According to Ryan Seacrest, “America has voted!” and the verdict was final.

Nigel Lythgoe, American Idol’s executive producer disclosed in his Twitter account his favorite for the season:

Jessica Sanchez and Phillip Phillips, on the other hand, thanked their supporters.

The reaction that is worth emulating was Joshua’s, who was optimistic in his “defeat.” He had       reacted in an admirable manner. Here’s what he tweeted after his elimination from the Top 3 American Idol 2012 show.

If you’re wondering what Joshua meant, here are the lyrics to Beyoncé’s “I Was Here.”

I wanna leave my footprints on the sands of time
Know there was something that, and something that I left behind
When I leave this world, I’ll leave no regrets
Leave something to remember, so they won’t forget

I was here…
I lived, I loved
I was here…
I did, I’ve done, everything that I wanted
And it was more than I thought it would be
I will leave my mark so everyone will know
I was here…

I want to say I lived each day, until I died
I know that I had something in, somebody’s life
The hearts I have touched, will be the proof that I leave
That I made a difference, and this world will see

I was here…
I lived, I loved
I was here…
I did, I’ve done, everything that I wanted
And it was more than I thought it would be
I will leave my mark so everyone will know
I was here…

I was here…
I lived, I loved
I was here…
I did, I’ve done, everything that I wanted
And it was more than I thought it would be
I will leave my mark so everyone will know
I was here…

I just want them to know
That I gave my all, did my best
Brought someone to happiness
Left this world a little better just because…

I was here…

I was here…
I lived, I loved
I was here…
I did, I’ve done, everything that I wanted
And it was more than I thought it would be
I will leave my mark so everyone will know
I was here…
