Journey with front man, Arnel Pineda, rocked two sold-out concerts in Las Vegas last August 28 & 29, 2013. The concerts were at the Pearl Concert Theater at the Palms. Las Vegas was part of Journey’s 2013 Live Tour.
Journey performed songs from the ‘dirty dozen’ and the old time favorites. The set list included the following songs:
“Separate Ways” – The band started their gig with this rocking love song classic.
“Anyway You Want It”
“Send Her My Love It”
“Chain Reaction”
“Only the Young”
“Stone in Love”
“Stay a While” – This was well-applauded (all of the songs were well applauded, but this one was special). It was an acoustic performance by Arnel Pineda and Neal Schon.
“Lights”
“La Do Da Do Day”
“Escape”
“Dead or Alive”
“Faithfully”
“Be Good to Yourself”
“Don’t Stop Believin’”
Encore:
“Lovin’, Touchin’, Squeezin’”
‘La Raza del Sol”
On the last leg of Journey’s performance, Carlos Santana, Santana band’s founder, and Greg Rollie, Journey’s former keyboard player and soloist, jammed with the band. It was a rare performance that has never happened before, even during the early Journey days of previous lead vocalist Steve Perry. It was a momentous event!

For more than 3 decades now, Journey is still rocking the world stage because of its Filipino lead vocalist, Arnel Pineda, who is touted to have the most charismatic personality, converting most of the hard-core Journey fans to the new ‘edition’ of Journey, now the world band.
Arnel’s powerful voice and stage presence makes the band more alive on stage and the genuine camaraderie the band members; Neal Schon, Jonathan Cain, Deen Castronovo, Ross Valory and Arnel Pineda demonstrate on stage is palpable. Reportedly, a new album is being conceived. Fans hope the album would materialize in 2015.
As always, the audience in Las Vegas was mesmerized with Arnel Pineda’s performance. Here’s one fan reaction from Cora Goldner Belsher:
“Hey we just met in the Palms Casino an hour ago.
Thank you so much for letting me have a picture with you! We saws your concert last night, you are amazing in so many ways. Wonderfully gifted voice, endless energy, how do you jump that high! Your connection with the audience is magical. You make the concert so much fun, and you are such a gracious guy, thank you again! YOU ROCK!! but I guess you know that.”
Indeed, Journey is here to stay.
