Jessica Sanchez had performed at the 2012 PBS National Memorial Day Concert in Washington, DC, at the U.S. Capitol, on May 26. This was disclosed by U.S. news, May 27, 2012.
The American Idol season 11 runner-up sang the U.S. National Anthem and one of her hit contest pieces, My Prayer.
Jessica had previously lost to Phillip Phillips who was crowned the winner in an emotional 2 hour music extravaganza on May 23, where Phillip cried.
Whenever asked about her defeat, in spite of her vocal reach and capabilities, Jessica had always said good words about her co-finalist, and eventual American Idol winner, Phillip Phillips.
Jessica’s duet with Jennifer Holliday is obviously the top duet on American Idol 2012 because of the hits it earned from YouTube within a few days of its launching.
With Jessica Sanchez at the PBS National Memorial Day Concert are co-American Idol Chris Daughtry and Natalie Cole. Jessica’s mother was also there supporting her all the way.
It was rumored that Jessica would soon be recording an album, but this would largely depend upon the result of her first three singles.
