Dolphy Laid to Rest: Thank You for the Laughter, “Happy Trip and Till We Meet Again”

MANILA, Philippines – Dolphy, Rodolfo Vera Quizon Sr., was finally laid to rest in Taguig at the Heritage Memorial Park, last Sunday, July 15, 2012 at 3 p.m. and his loved ones did not bid goodbye, but instead wished him a “happy trip” and  a “till we meet again” wish.

Reportedly, the burial rite was a solemn, private affair, attended by those who are considered family. Karylle, daughter of Zsa Zsa Padilla with her first husband, showed her loyal support to her mom amidst the sadness caused by the demise of one of the legendary icons in showbiz.

During Dolphy’s wake when Dolphy’s partner for more than 20 yrs, Zsa Zsa, sang “Through the Years,” people cried with her.

Dolphy was and still is the Comedy King, unequaled in the genre of comedy in the Philippine entertainment   industry. Popular showbiz personalities like Gary Valenciano, Maricel Soriano, Tito, Vic and Joey, Maricel Soriano, Alma Moreno, and many more celebrities, paid tribute to him. Even President Noynoy Aquino visited his wake at the Dolphy Theater in ABS-CBN.

The whole nation mourns the end of a movie icon, who has made all Filipino household joyful in spite of hardships and tribulations. Dolphy showed that one can turn life into a happy ride.
