American Idols Scotty McCreery and Lauren Alaina were both nominated for the “USA Weekend Breakthrough Video of the Year” at the 2012 CMT Music Awards.

Scotty McCreery is nominated for “Trouble with Girls” and Lauren Alaina for “Georgia Peaches.” The other nominees are Brantley Gilbert for his “Country Must Be Country Wide,” Hunter Hayes for “Storm Warning,” Pistol Annies for “Hell on Heels,” and Thompson Square for “I Got You.”

Steven Tyler and Carrie Underwood also earned a nomination for “Just a Dream/Dream On (From CMT Crossroads)”

Carrie Underwood, another American Idol alumna, is up for other awards as well, like the “Collaborative Video of the Year” with Brad Paisley, and “Female Video of the Year” and “Video of the Year” for “Good Girl.” Carrie will compete with well-known artists like Taylor Swift, Miranda Albert, Martina McBride, Sara Evans and co-American Idol alumna Kellie Pickler.
