MANILA, Philippines – Nora Aunor’s “Ang Kwento Ni Mabuti” is showing on September 18 to 24, with the official trailer released this week. The movie is another feather added to Nora Aunor’s cap because it is an extraordinary role for the internationally acclaimed Filipino Superstar.

“Thy Womb” has garnered several Best Actress Awards for Nora Aunor and Best Director Trophies for Brillante Mendoza.
“Thy Womb” has been recognized internationally and is now one of the local contenders from which judges could pick from for the Oscars in Hollywood for the Foreign Films category.
“Thy Womb”, however, was defeated in an Independent Online Poll of the “Top 15 Favorite Filipino Movies of All Time” conducted in this site. “Himala” tops the poll with 273 votes, out of the 1,396 votes.
“Thy Womb” comes only in second place with 226 votes, and “Tatlong Taong Walang Diyos” is in 3rd with 213 votes. “Bona” comes in 4th and “Kastilyong Buhangin” is at 5th place.
It is worth mentioning that only another Nora Aunor movie could defeat the sterling performance of “Thy Womb.”
“Himala” is an award-winning Nora Aunor movie, directed by Ishmael Bernal and written by Ricky Lee, where Ate Guy (Nora Aunor) won the Best Actress in the Manila Film Festival in 1982. “Himala” was also recognized internationally as the “Best Asian-Pacific Movie of All Time” in 2008. “Himala” was the winner in 1983 of the Bronze Hugo Awards in Chicago, as well.
Nora Aunor also starred in “Tatlong Taong Walang Diyos” and “Bona”, while “Kastilyong Buhangin” featured Ate Guy and action star Lito Lapid.
Although the “Top 15 Favorite Filipino Movies of All Time” poll is still on-going, apparently, more than a thousand people still considered “Himala” as Nora Aunor’s finest.
Fans are excited about the local academy’s choice for Hollywood’s Film Academy (The Oscars). If “Thy Womb” makes the final cut, this could justify its supremacy as Nora Aunor’s most superb work of art.
