MANILA, Philippines –Storm Quinta, previously, a Low Pressure Area (LPA) has intensified into a tropical storm in Visayas and Mindanao, this Christmas Day, Tuesday, December 25, 2012, as disclosed by PAGASA.
As of four (4) p.m., Storm Quinta is located 90 km Southeast of Guiuan, Eastern Samar.
PAGASA announced that Signal No.1 is up in these areas:
Rest of Cebu
Agusan Del Norte
Agusan Del Sur
Surigao Del Sur
Signal No. 2 in these areas:
Surigao Del Norte”
PAGASA also stated that by Friday afternoon, Storm Quinta would be outside of the Philippines’ area of responsibility, which is 870 km West of Northwest of Puerto Princesa City.
PAGASA advised people in low areas to transfer to higher locations as storm Quinta’s heavy down pour is expected.
Meanwhile, tropical storm Quinta would cause cloudy weather and occasional rain showers in Luzon and other parts of the country, there are no storm signals, however.
For sure, with the recent onslaught of Bopha, people hope Quinta would be more ‘merciful.’
