Tropical Depression “Basyang” Enters Philippine Area of Responsibility as Storm Signal #1 is Issued over Portions of Visayas and Mindanao

MANILA, Philippines – Tropical Depression “Basyang” has entered the Philippine Area of Responsibility as Storm Signal #1 is issued by PAGASA over portions of Visayas and Mindanao. According to PAGASA’s Facebook page:

Public Storm Warning Signal #1(Winds of 30-60 kph is expected within the next 36 hours)
Visayas: Southern part of Leyte, Southern Leyte and Bohol
Mindanao: Surigao del Norte including Siargao Is., Surigao del Sur, Northern part of Agusan del Sur, Agusan del Norte, Camiguin Island, Dinagat Province and Misamis Oriental.”

This latest bulletin was issued on January 30, 2014 at 11:00 pm. The next would be on January 31 at 5 am.

Hopefully, Tropical Depression “Basyang” would not leave any casualties, as people in the Visayas and Mindanao regions are still reeling from the devastation caused by super typhoon Yolanda (Haiyan).
