MANILA, Philippines – Action star Robin Padilla urged Senate President Franklin Drillon to “resign out of “delikadeza”, re: 100 Million PDAF allegedly received after Justice Corona’s ouster. Robin revealed his sentiments during his interview with ANC.
‘Delikadeza”, a Spanish word, could mean various things such as gentleness, goodness, decency, tact, refinement, and honor. People with “delikadeza” usually resign voluntarily even without a verdict because they believe people do not trust them anymore. They may also relinquish their power allowing proper investigation of the incident to take place.
When Robin Padilla was asked about his reasons why the Senate President should resign, he answered:
(We also need to be proud that Filipinos have honor.)
(You, the lawmakers, you should be the ones showing people that we have honor.)
When shown the response of Drillon saying that he did not pocket any money from the P100 million, Padilla replied:
(The senator said many things. I didn’t say he pocketed the money…)
(What I’m saying here is the honor of the senate.)
(Senator, this is the chance that a senator, the head of the senate, resigns out of ‘honor’)
“Kung ako ikaw, then I’ll do it.” (If I were you, then I’ll do it.)
Robin Padilla urged the lawmakers.
(Statistics shows that 75% no longer believe. The voice of the people is saying that you should close ‘shop’.)
