Reportedly, “Proud Mary” is a song written by John Fogerty and sang originally by the Creedence Clearwater Revival (CCR) and then sang later by Ike and Tina Turner.

Proud Mary” had been No. 2 on the Top 40 charts in 1969 and then No. 4 on the 1971 charts when Tina Turner turned it into a rock song.
