There is this song from the Beatles “IMAGINE” (composed by John Lennon) which goes this way:

Imagine there’s no Heaven
It’s easy if you try
No hell below us
Above us only sky
Imagine all the people
Living for today

Imagine there’s no countries
It isn’t hard to do
Nothing to kill or die for
And no religion too
Imagine all the people
Living life in peace

You may say that I’m a dreamer
But I’m not the only one
I hope someday you’ll join us
And the world will be as one

Imagine no possessions
I wonder if you can
No need for greed or hunger
A brotherhood of man
Imagine all the people
Sharing all the world

You may say that I’m a dreamer
But I’m not the only one
I hope someday you’ll join us
And the world will live as one

Although some of the lyrics are quite impossible (“imagine there are no countries”); the message of the song is clear, that the ” world will be as one.”
Greed and hunger are indeed causing the wealth imbalance in countries. Not only greed but corruption too. These are immense problems that need to be addressed collectively. As I have read from the thoughts of one wise man; he said that ” One must not say, he cannot do anything. One can always do something, and that is to start with one’s self”.

I have this dream of a world as one!

  1. This happens to be one of my favorite songs to sing. The message in it is thought-provoking indeed. Muslims,Christians Hindus, and other religions would not want to give up their own religions, countries, and own identities. This wishful thinking, unfortunately, can only be achieved in heaven by those few chosen ones who make it up there. Sorry to dampen your enthusiasm. It’s still nice to imagine, though, huh?

  2. Well, Tasha, just like my belief in everlasting and unconditional love, I still believe in world peace – an elusive dream, I agree – but we have to try…

  3. Visit my new blog site that has new postings. Not my original writings, but they’re still excellent writings.
