Pinay YouTube sensation, Donnalyn Bartolome, visited Amalgamated Dynamics, Inc. (ADI) and met Alec Gillis and Tom Woodruff Jr. who are responsible for Animatronics in sci-fi and horror films such as, “The Alien” , “The Thing”, “The Predator”, and many other sci-fi horror movies.
Nowadays, film makers are into CGI computer generated images, which according to Alec, are not as real as Animatronics. Alec and Tom are now into a project, in which people are invited to participate in.
On the http://kickstarter.com/projects/1117671683/harbinger-down-a-practical-creature-fx-film website, they have a project “Harbinger Down” which is waiting funding up to Friday Jun 7, 1:45 pm EDT. It is a film that would bring back the awesome power of Animatronics.
“This project will only be funded if at least $350,000 is pledged by Friday Jun 7, 1:45 pm EDT.”
The project has already $156,961 pledges with 1,003 backers and 10 days to go. You can help Tom and Alec with whatever participation you can afford.
There are several renowned personalities who have joined Harbinger Down’s crew. Composer Joel McNeeley of “Star Wars: Shadows of the Empire”, model-builder and Academy Award winning Pat McClung, and other well-known personalities.
“Alien” and “The Predator” were big hits in the Philippines, but Donna seemed not to have watched them yet, as she did not recognize the life-size animatronics related to the movies. She must have been very young then, still not allowed to watch these films.
“Harbinger Down” is a full-length sci-fi horror film that would feature Animatronics and Makeup FX. Although, they said they “would use digital to help their animatronics look better, there would be no digitally –animated creatures in the film.”
Donnalyn Bartolome may very well be amidst something very big for her career. Nothing is confirmed yet by Donna or Alec Gillis and Tom Woodruff Jr., something is in the air that makes the young Pop star thrilled. What might that be?
