Phillip Phillips’ song, “Home”, is featured in Clint Eastwood’s new movie “Trouble with the Curve“. This was disclosed by the American Idol website, August 8, 2012.
The movie stars Clint Eastwood, Amy Adams, and Justin Timberlake, and will be shown on September 21, 2012.
It is not the first time that the American Idol winner’s coronation song has been featured ostensibly; it is also the theme song of the “Fabulous Five” U.S. women gymnasts in the London Olympics.
The video of Phillip’s “Home” premiered also during the “So You Think You Can Dance” (SYTYCD) show.
Even before the added exposure, “Home” did well on iTunes. After the international media blitz, “Home” went right back to No. 1 again. The song sold more than 500,000 copies earning Phillip Phillips more than gold for his song.
Phillip Phillips and the rest of the Top 10 American Idol finalists are still on live tour around the U.S. In spite of his successes, season 11’s winner remains humble and down to earth.
