Jessica Sanchez and Phillip Phillips are the Top 2 American Idol 2012 finalists. They are both talented singers in their own right, but why should Jessica win the American Idol 2012 contest?
Here are reasons why.
Jessica had worked hard for it
One could not discount the fact that Phillip Phillips has also worked hard to come this far, but Jessica has been at it since she was 11. You can grant persistence to the girl, she never gives up. She said during the American Idol 24 cut:
“I need this very badly. My family has spent much on me and my mother is jobless, attending to me, because she knows that there is a chance I could make it.”
Jessica’s vocal capabilities at her young age is incredible
American Idol 2102 would have gained a “golden voice” courtesy of Jessica, at her young age of 16. Imagine what that voice could turn out to be at 18 and with the passage of time. Even Phillip Phillips recognizes this during their interview with ACCESS, after their Top 2 announcement:

“Jessica, she’s a sweet girl. I never heard her voice come out of anyone, not even from someone older. She is so blessed. She’s talented she knows how to control her voice very well.”
Jessica could sing all songs in any music genre
Phillip is an extraordinary singer in the “blues” and “pop” genre. One can’t help but love him, but Jessica could sing all types, Michael Jackson, Mariah Carey, Beyoncé, Jennifer Holliday, and a countless singers.
Jessica’s win would break the non-female streak on American Idol
It’s probably time that a female should win again. American Idol is a worthy reality singing venue where anyone can win. It showcases America’s democracy and brand of liberty to the whole world; that America gives equal chances to anyone who deserves to win.
These are only a few of the reasons why she should win American idol 2012.
