Jessica Lange and Matt Damon were nominated for Lead Actress and Lead Actor in a miniseries or movie, respectively. This was disclosed this Thursday, July 18, 2013.

The 65th Primetime Emmy Awards.is an annual recognition of the best of the best on television, arts and sciences.

Jessica Lange became known in her role in the blockbuster movie “King Kong,” while Matt Damon became popular in “Goodwill Hunting” and “Bourne Identity.”

Jessica was nominated for “American Horror Story: Asylum,” while Matt Damon was nominated for “Behind the Candelabra.”

Other nominees for the lead actress category are: Laura Linney, for “The Big C: Hereafter“, Sigourney Weaver forPolitical Animals“, (Sigourney, also starred in “King Kong”), Helen Mirren, for “Phil Spector” and Elisabeth Moss for “Top of the Lake“.

For the lead actor, Benedict Cumberbatch was nominated for “Parade’s End“, Michael Douglas for “Behind the Candelabra“, Al Pacino, “Phil Spector“, and Toby Jones, “The Girl“.
